Care Advocacy & Navigation
A clearer way forward when care feels complicated
Understanding care options, dealing with different services and making important decisions can feel overwhelming. You may be unsure who to speak to, what questions to ask or how to make sure your concerns are understood.
Laver Accord provides independent care advocacy and navigation support for individuals and families. We help you understand the information available, prepare for conversations and coordinate practical next steps, keeping the person’s needs, wishes and preferences central throughout.
When we can help
You may find our support useful when:
You are unsure where to turn for help with care or support.
Different professionals or organisations are involved and responsibilities feel unclear.
You want help understanding care plans, assessments or correspondence.
You are preparing for a meeting or reviewing proposed care arrangements.
Communication with a care provider has become difficult.
You feel that your views, or those of someone close to you, are not being heard.
Circumstances are changing and you need help considering the available options.
You do not need to have a formal complaint or know exactly what support you need before contacting us. An initial conversation can help clarify the situation and identify where we may be able to assist.
Helping you understand your options
We bring structure to information that can feel confusing or fragmented.
Our support may include:
Reviewing existing care plans, assessments, correspondence and other relevant documents.
Helping you identify questions, gaps in information and decisions that need attention.
Explaining care terminology and processes in straightforward language.
Helping you compare options against the person’s needs, preferences and circumstances.
Identifying relevant services or organisations to approach.
Helping you establish who is responsible for each next step.
We help you make informed decisions, with time to consider what matters most to the person receiving support.
Helping your voice be heard
Important conversations can be difficult, particularly when you are worried, tired or unfamiliar with how care services work.
We can help you prepare clear questions, explain your priorities and communicate your concerns constructively. Where agreed and appropriate, we can attend meetings alongside you, help clarify the discussion and keep track of decisions and actions.
Our approach begins with listening to the person receiving care. We take account of their communication needs and how they wish to be involved, while recognising the contribution of family members and others supporting them.
Where someone asks us to act on their behalf, we will clarify the scope of our involvement and any permissions or authority needed.
Bringing the next steps together
When several services are involved, progress can be difficult to follow. We help organise the practical details so that everyone has a clearer understanding of what needs to happen.
This may include:
Coordinating discussions with care providers, professionals and family members.
Preparing a summary of the issues and agreed priorities.
Recording actions, responsibilities and expected timescales.
Following up on outstanding information or unanswered questions.
Helping you review progress and consider whether further support is needed.
If your situation involves a complaint or a move to another care provider, we can also discuss our dedicated complaints support and care transition services.
Flexible support, clearly agreed
Support can include remote document reviews, telephone or online discussions, face-to-face meetings and visits to a person’s current care setting where appropriate.
You may need help with one meeting or decision, or ongoing support through a more complex situation. We agree the scope, arrangements and fees with you before paid work begins.
Based in Essex and Warwickshire, we can discuss remote support and in-person arrangements across the UK, depending on your location and the nature of the work.
Understanding our role
Laver Accord provides independent, privately commissioned support and practical advocacy. We do not provide legal advice, clinical assessments or regulated personal care, and our work does not replace statutory advocacy services where someone has a legal entitlement to them.
Where your situation requires specialist support beyond our role, we will explain this clearly and help you identify an appropriate route forward.
Request your free consultation
Your initial consultation of up to 45 minutes is free and without obligation. It is an opportunity to explain your situation, discuss your priorities and consider how we may be able to help.
Share a brief outline of the support you are looking for. Please avoid including medical records, financial details or confidential information about other people in your initial website enquiry. If further information is needed, we will explain how to share it appropriately.
We aim to respond within two working days.
