Interim Management Support

Experienced leadership when you need it

When a leadership role becomes vacant, services face operational pressure or an organisation enters a period of change, experienced interim support can help maintain continuity and bring clear direction.

Laver Accord provides interim management and leadership for care providers, charities and support services. We work alongside your teams to understand the immediate priorities, take responsibility for agreed areas of work and help move the organisation forward.

What our support can include

The scope of each assignment is agreed around your organisation’s needs. Support may include:

  • Operational leadership and day-to-day service management.

  • Leadership and support for managers and staff teams.

  • Review of service quality, performance and operational risks.

  • Strengthening safeguarding arrangements and accountability.

  • Governance, reporting and preparation of information for boards or owners.

  • Development and delivery of practical improvement plans.

  • Support with regulatory readiness and responding to inspection findings.

  • Management of organisational change and service development.

  • Communication with families, commissioners, professionals and partner organisations.

  • Clear handover arrangements for incoming permanent leaders.

Where an assignment involves a registered management role, the responsibilities and any required regulatory approval will be clarified before the appointment begins.

Leadership grounded in care experience

Laver Accord’s founder, Dan Lawrence, brings more than 30 years of experience across care and support services, beginning with volunteering and frontline care before moving into management in 2004 after completing his NVQ in Care and Registered Managers Award.

His subsequent experience includes registered management, regional operations and senior leadership, including Operations Director responsibilities in private care services and leading several charities as Chief Executive. This has involved responsibility for substantial service budgets, teams of more than 150 people, managers across multiple locations, safeguarding, service quality and organisational change.

That experience combines an understanding of the pressures facing boards and senior leaders with practical knowledge of the services people depend on every day.

How we work

Understand the priorities

We begin by discussing the circumstances, immediate pressures and outcomes you need. Where appropriate, this includes reviewing key documents and meeting the people responsible for the organisation and its services.

Agree the assignment

We set out the responsibilities, authority, reporting arrangements, expected commitment and fees. This creates a clear understanding of what the interim role will deliver and how progress will be assessed.

Lead and deliver

We work visibly alongside your teams, address agreed priorities and maintain clear communication with the people overseeing the assignment. Our approach combines practical action with support for the managers and staff responsible for delivery.

Prepare for continuity

Handover is considered from the outset. We aim to leave clear records, workable systems and a realistic account of progress, outstanding actions and the next steps for permanent leadership.

Keeping people at the centre

Effective interim management means understanding how leadership decisions affect the people receiving support, their families and the staff providing it.

We listen to those perspectives, maintain a focus on dignity and individual choice, and help teams connect operational priorities with the quality of care and support people experience.

Flexible support, clearly agreed

Assignments can include a defined period of leadership cover, part-time management support or focused involvement in a particular service or project. On-site and remote working arrangements are agreed according to the responsibilities of the role.

Fees are tailored to the scope, complexity, duration and time commitment required. We provide a clear proposal and agree fees and any expenses before paid work begins.
