Safeguarding

Laver Accord is committed to helping protect adults and children from abuse, neglect and exploitation. We take concerns seriously, listen to the person affected and act promptly and proportionately.

Our work may bring us into contact with people who receive care, their families, care staff and others involved in support. We aim to treat everyone with dignity, respect their wishes and communication needs, and involve them in decisions wherever it is safe to do so.

Raising a safeguarding concern

If you are worried that someone is experiencing, or may be at risk of, abuse, neglect or exploitation, contact Daniel Lawrence, Laver Accord’s Safeguarding Lead, at dan@laveraccord.co.uk. Please do not include sensitive personal information in an initial website enquiry.

If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical help, call 999. If the concern involves a child, contact the local authority’s children’s social care service. For a concern about an adult, contact the local authority’s adult safeguarding service. If you believe a crime has occurred but there is no immediate danger, contact the police on 101.

If your concern is about Daniel Lawrence, contact the relevant local authority safeguarding service or the police directly.

How we respond

We will consider the person’s immediate safety, listen to their views and take appropriate action. Where it is necessary and lawful, we may share relevant information with the local authority, police or other people able to help keep someone safe. We cannot promise to keep a safeguarding concern confidential if sharing information is needed to protect someone.

Laver Accord provides independent guidance and support. We are not an emergency service, statutory safeguarding authority or provider of regulated personal care. Our work does not replace the responsibilities of care providers or public agencies.
